Fundraising Idea 1.0

I just can't wait until our next meeting to share this idea with you. If any of you choose to use it, I want you to have as much time as possible to make it successful.

Have you ever heard of moo.com? The company tagline is "we love to print," so you know I love them. They have an INCREDIBLY easy process to help you create mini cards and a whole bunch of other things: note cards, postcards, stickers, etc. The mini cards are a little more than half the size of a business card.

The best part is that you can use your own photos on the image side and write your own text on the message side. I used a cropped picture Merrily took last year of the dollar on my jersey. If you don't have an image you want to use, moo has some pre-set designs you can borrow.

I've ordered a set of 100 mini cards ($19.99) for a couple of purposes:

  1. You know I'm sending some of my donation stuff up to my mother so the town of Middlebury, VT, can chip in. I'll have her pass these out to clients who want to donate online so they can find me.
  2. I'm making pink ribbon magnets (in tiny pink mesh bags, naturally) as thank-yous for the in-person donations. I will attach one of these cards to each bag so donors can find the blog. I also think it helps to have a picture of me on the cards--many of the Vermont donors, if they know me at all, haven't seen me in at least 10 years.
  3. Handing these out and talking to people is a lot less...er...ummmm....questionable (?) than standing outside a store with a bucket.
  4. They are the cutest things EVER.

My cards should arrive this week. If you'd like, I can distribute some to the team so you can see how they came out. Check out moo for more info.
