For our new team members, welcome to your TeamMBA Avon Walk Training Blog! There's so much to do and to share, we decided to put it all in one place and invite our colleagues and supporters to follow along. Every registered team member is encouraged to contribute -- you will receive instructions after our kickoff meeting.
It's only February, but we have a head start on building this year's TeamMBA Avon Walk group. After last year's triumph, our feet are twitching, our enthusiasm is building, and we have the critical -- and vocal! -- support of our colleagues.
Building on Nicole's momentum from her 2006 walk, we debuted in 2007 as one of the Top 20 fundraising teams. We had generous support from our families and friends, our GMAC family, and the overwhelmingly successful “Wear Your Walking Shoes to Work Fridays.” The bar is set high for us this year, but one thing I took away from the 2007 Walk is that there is no limit to what we can do, or to what we can do as a team.
There is no shortage of inspiration for this event, and we all know why we walk. To remind us of how this particular team came together in service of a greater cause, I refer you all back to two of the Values that guide our organization:
Respect ... We will demonstrate respect and care for all people, internal and external to the Graduate Management Admission Council. Respect for each other transcends our professional agendas.
Community ... We will each give back to the management education community. We will each support causes that are greater than ourselves and through this commitment will yield a result far greater than any one of us alone could achieve.
Welcome to the 2008
